Checking OCD is a form of OCD that involves the compulsion to check things over and over again. Some examples of the compulsions and behaviors related to this type of OCD are as follows:

• (repeatedly) making sure that the oven is turned off before leaving the house
• (repeatedly) checking whether all the doors in your house are locked
• (repeatedly) checking whether the refrigerator door is open
• (repeatedly) checking whether the lights are turned off before leaving the house
• (repeatedly) checking whether you locked your car
