About the Pedophilia OCD category

Pedophilia OCD is a form of OCD that involves obsessive thoughts concerning pedophilia, such as being worried about potentially becoming sexually aroused by a child, or having false obsessions over having sexually harmed a child in the past. Some examples of the compulsions and behaviors related to this type of OCD are as follows:

  • Thoughts that one might become aroused by looking at a child
  • Thoughts that one might become aroused by hugging or touching a child
  • Thoughts that one may have abused a child at some point in the past
  • Avoidance of being alone with a child out of fear that one might hurt them
  • Avoidance of conversations about children out of fear that one might say something inappropriate
  • Excessive reassurance-seeking about one’s thoughts regarding children
